2013 marks the 10th anniversary of Earned Schedule (ES). It is time to celebrate a decade of growth, to share new developments, to address challenges, and to strengthen the network of ES practitioners and researchers. It is time, in short, to convene a conference devoted to Earned Schedule.
In 2003, Walt Lipke published "Schedule Is Different", the seminal work on Earned Schedule. Since then, over 60 articles, 75 presentations, and 3 books have appeared on ES. The theory has been expanded, confirmed by further research, and adopted worldwide by project managers and PMOs. The Project Management Institute has recognized ES as an emerging practice, and the most recent update to the PMI Earned Value Management Practice Standard includes coverage of Earned Schedule.
With all of this progress, we believe that the timing is right for gathering the ES community together. But, to move forward with the idea of a conference, we need your input. Please take a few minutes to complete the form below. We will collate the results and provide all responders with an update by September 1, 2012.
