Features Analysis Period: You select the period for the Analyzer to evaluate: months, weeks, or days. The Analyzer performs the analysis and reports on the results up to the "As Of" date, which you also specify. Edit Checks: The Analyzer confirms that required baseline data is available for its calculations. If it detects that the baseline has not been set, it advises you to ensure that resources and rates are entered and the baseline is set. Graphical Analysis: The Analyzer automatically creates an Excel file and generates graphs that display schedule performance. The first graphs shows the expected baseline performance of the schedule and the actual performance of the schedule. The second graph shows two distinct measurements: variance and schedule performance index. The variance is simple the difference between the baseline and the actual performance. The schedule performance index is the ratio between the two. The index is especially useful because the slope of the line indicates the trend. Numerical Details: The Analyzer provides a full breakdown on the results of the analysis for each time period specified. The analysis uses advanced Earned Value techniques to compute the numbers. One number of particular interest to the Project Manager is the projected end date. This is based on the start date of the project and the schedule performance index. Warning Messages: The Analyzer assesses the results of the analysis and displays appropriate messages. For instance, if it detects a late finish, it notifies you that the end date needs to be adjusted.
