Research shows that the "shape" of a project affectsthe reliability of duration forecasts: the greater the number of parallel activities, the less reliable the forecast. Earned Schedule-Longest Path (ES-LP) addresses the problem by (virtually) serializing the schedule.

ES-LP analyzes an idealized pattern of Planned Value and Earned Value, factors in the impact of their actual distribution, and thereby accounts for parallelism. The result is a demonstrably more accurate duration forecast.

ES-LP calculations are, however, complicated. The complexity has inhibited the use of ES-LP on large projects...until now.

ProjectFlightDeck's LP Analyzer automates complex ES-LP calculations and makes it easy for Project Managers to apply ES-LP to projects of all sizes.
